Redwood Publishing Recruitment is excited to be working with Pan Macmillan in their recruitment of a highly competent and self-motivated Sales Manager, who will manage a number of key supermarkets representing the Pan Macmillan range of Adult and Children’s lists. This is a fixed term contract position for 9 – 12 months.
Reporting to the Sales Director for Online and Supermarkets, you will have solid experience of the supermarket sector, first class relationship management skills plus the drive and energy necessary for success in this highly commercial channel. Your knowledge of the UK Trade will be relevant as will your effective negotiation and communications skills.
Key tasks will include:
- Manage and achieve profit, sales, returns and spend budgets for your accounts
- Provide sales forecasting and consistent title feedback for your accounts
- Create opportunities for special or exclusive deals
- Support the Sales Director on agreed meetings and author strategies
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working in a sales department for a major trade publisher, within the supermarket sales channel. You should have experience with Excel and able to manage complicated processes and spreadsheets. Your experience of using budgeting and forecasting models will be important however, your ability to ‘put the customer first’ is essential.
Working alongside colleagues in UK Sales, Operations, Production and Editorial, this maternity role will further build your experience and skills within this important channel.
