That same year we welcomed two new businesses to the family: Knock Knock and Em & Friends, known for their innovative gift and stationery products, and Boxer Books, known for its commitment to picture books for young children.

Union Square & Co. is a subsidiary of Sterling Publishing Co., Inc, a publisher with a history that spans more than 70 years and a proud member of the Barnes & Noble family. Across its affiliates, the publisher has a title base of approximately 14,500 print and eBook titles, and distributes approximately 1,100 titles on behalf of client publishers.

We are seeking an administrator for our new London office with a focus on Boxer Books, the children’s publisher, an imprint of Union Square & Co.

Boxer Books’ unique approach to children’s books combines inventive ideas, concepts and storylines with a strong sense of style and design for the international market.

The ideal candidate will:

  • take control and ownership of the functioning of the UK office
  • be the point of contact and liaison for the UK office and international colleagues and partners.
  • be flexible with working hours to enable crossover with U.S. colleagues. 
  • be attentive, meticulous and clear at all times with excellent communication skills
  • be fluent in written and spoken English
  • have proven organisational and time management skills
  • be confident with all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • be able to work independently, calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines have excellent record-keeping

Specific to Boxer Books:

    o    maintaining the P&L summary
    o    managing acquisitions fulfillment including memos, spreadsheets and comparison titles.
    o    creating advance information sheets
    o    inputting data to the Title Management system
    o    liaising with production re costings
    o    author care 
    o    monitoring, managing and archiving creative files
    o    taking minutes at meetings
    o    prepping contract summaries
    o    provide marketing assets for seasonal sales meetings
    o    diary management across multiple time zones.
    o    meeting scheduling, preparation and follow-up – both domestic and international

Specific to International Sales:

    o    Provide marketing assets for sales presentations, and archive files for rights customers
