Web Assistant Editor

Our client, a leading publisher in the healthcare arena, is looking for an Assistant Web Editor to join their offices in North West London. The successful candidate will support the Web Editor in every aspect of online publishing. Please note that this is for a maternity cover 6 month contract on a part-time basis (21 hours).

 

Key duties:

  • Publish and process XML content, checking content for accuracy, investigating and fixing errors and liaising with suppliers
  • Maintain online production calendar and ensures timely publication of content
  • Ensure content on all platforms and pages is accurate, up to date and in keeping with the brand
  • Help identify digital opportunities, online trends and user behaviour with Google Analytics and implement creative digital solutions
  • Attend relevant conferences and training as required, and ensure company platforms keep pace with digital best practice
  • Help colleagues keeping up to date with digital developments

Experience / skills required:

  • Previous experience working with digital content is essential, ideally within a digital publishing environment
  • Experience of using worked with XML, HTML, various CMS, UGC and on the Atypon/Literatum digital platform
  • Strong understanding of website analytics and monitoring software
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office and Adobe packages (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator), XML, HTML and CMS
  • Good organisation and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good knowledge of SEO and solid understanding of social media

Educated to degree level or equivalent
