Sales & Consumer Marketing Manager

The leading creative publishing agency, whitefox, is seeking a Sales & Consumer Marketing Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role. You’ll work closely with the Sales & Business Development Director, the in-house team of Project Managers and Editorial Directors, as well as with a broader pool of freelance marketing and publicity agencies, creatives, retailers, bookstores and wholesalers.

We’re looking for an experienced sales or marketing professional who has a strong market-aware understanding of the trade publishing landscape for a wide variety of projects in both adult fiction, non-fiction and children’s publishing. They will be enthusiastic, confident, and comfortable with the breadth and pace of our client-led list, which works within much more compressed timelines than traditional trade publishing. The role will suit an entrepreneurial self-starter who is excited by commercial success and delivery of client services beyond expectations. A working knowledge of international markets and foreign rights markets and processes is beneficial but not required.

Reporting to the Sales & Business Development Director and working closely with the editorial project management team and our clients, they will:

  • Manage monthly title submissions to key accounts and targeted retailers in the UK, US and int’l markets as agreed with the SBDD and in line with the client’s services agreement, with follow-up and management as need.
  • Develop Amazon title listings to optismise presentation for both the project and client, including updates to descriptive copy and reviews as well as occasional A+ Content development.
  • Develop and manage wider metadata on all titles through our central title data management system and additional distribution systems, addressing any issues with that data post-feed and doing so pre-emptively.
  • Crafting and editing compelling advance information copy concerned with sales & marketing/publicity.
  • Manage outsourced (freelance) publicity and marketing campaigns for the client, as well as any internally-managed Amazon Advertising, BookBub, Google Advertising, social media or other ad/promo campaigns as required. Analysis of metrics and performance and the clear sharing of that data with the client is essential.
  • Partnering closely with the SBDD and project manager, be the client-facing key contact for sales and marketing/publicity campaigns.
  • Manage the monthly update of sales data to clients, as well as their quarterly earnings statements.
