Sales Manager - North America

A global independent children’s publisher is looking for an experienced sales professional to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a list of North American accounts alongside our clients VP of US sales (US based) and the Sales and Marketing director (UK based).

You will be a proven relationship builder, problem solver and customer champion. You will be a strategic thinker and contributor of ideas with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

With the ideal candidate having established relationships within the North American markets already, this is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to travel and learn and grow their career (The opportunities for growth are in your hands as the territory grows with you!)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building our clients market share within key customers whilst protecting discount and margin.
  • Management of their CRM system to aid planning and forecasting
  • Identifying new sales opportunities and defining their value proposition to new accounts.
  • Prepare sales reports and ensure accuracy before submitting them.
  • Feeding in future buying trends to help shape product development.
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers.
  • Ability to analyse commercial effectiveness of sales activity and use that analysis to develop sales strategies going forward.
  • Promoting our clients ‘own brand’ or ‘exclusive’ product development capability.
  • To monitor progress of direct reports and regularly report to the leadership team.
  • Regular travel to the territory
