Senior Digital Marketing Executive

We are delighted to be working with a growing global online retailer to find an experienced digital marketer to join their forward thinking, entrepreneurial and highly passionate team!

As part of the team you will take the lead in contributing to all aspects of the digital marketing strategy, communicating the brand values to customers so they understand who they are and why they are different from other booksellers!

Not only will you have a passion and demonstrated experience in publishing or book retail, you will be a sustainability champion wanting to drive a new model of how people buy and sell books.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a proactive mindset and as you can imagine mad about data!

You will be an expert in bringing insights into the business on key topics, trends and talking points related to digital marketing and the book/publishing trade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan an engaging creative social media schedule for existing and new followers of the brand across different social channels
  • Ensuring best in class direct marketing activity is relevant and as personalised as possible consumers
  • Work with product teams to ensure ongoing site experience is as optimised as possible.
  • Be experienced in digital marketing best practices such as SEO optimisation and trend analysis.

Key Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years working in a digital marketing role in publishing or book retail, with a passion for books.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of key daily e-commerce KPI’s with proficiency in daily and regular use of Google Analytics.
  • Experience in breaking down the customer journey online, highlighting pain points and working with the product team on improvement plans, with particular focus on checkout and the conversion funnel.
  • Hands-on day to day experience of email marketing software and site CMS tools to make changes to site theme/merchandising etc.
  • Proficient in the use of creative/design software such as Photoshop to make creative/design adjustments as and when required.
  • Ability to create clear, engaging copy across all owned and paid platforms.
  • Experience of PPC and associated metrics is an advantage, including setup and analysis of paid social programmes.
  • Proficient in Excel & MS office applications, using them to present data, results and ideas to teams and also external stakeholders.

Location:

Oxfordshire (3-4 days WFH, 1-2 days in office if living within 45 mins of office, otherwise WFH with 1 day per month in office)
