Publicity Assistant

Salary: £26,000 per annum
Yale University Press London is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Publicity Assistant to join our publicity team, working on Yale’s award-winning trade list of history, current affairs, music, science, literature and more. You will work closely with our publicists providing administrative support across the department, as well as being able to have creative input. Duties will include responding to review copy and other journalist requests, overseeing the UK office review coverage process, submitting our books to prizes, and managing The Bookseller and other trade submissions. There will also be the opportunity to work on your own campaigns.
This is an ideal role for an entry level candidate seeking all round publishing experience within a vibrant and collaborative marketing and publicity team.

The successful candidate will have
Essential:
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to plan and meet deadlines
- Ability to organise campaigns, plan strategically and work creatively
- Enthusiasm for working in book publicity
- Conscientious and meticulous, able to check and copy-edit own work
- Confident user of MS Word and Excel
Desirable:
- Experience of press campaigns and working with the media
- Familiarity with CisionOne or a similar media monitoring tool
- Knowledge of industry and academic prizes
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
