| Skills | The ideal candidate will be an experienced Preschool and Novelty editor, with strong market knowledge and a proven track record of both spotting talent and proactively developing new ideas and inventive formats. You must have significant experience of developing and working novelty titles. Additional experience of picture book publishing would be an advantage. You will have an established network of existing agent and author relationships, excellent negotiating skills and a strong understanding of novelty production processes and schedules. We want someone who can make an impact quickly, working across a wide range of formats as well as pitching new ideas for the list. You will work externally with authors, writers and agents, and internally with colleagues in editorial, design, production, sales, rights and marketing, in a fast-paced and vibrant environment. As such, you must be communicative, flexible, proactive and motivated, and able to use your initiative in handling competing priorities. Being highly organised with a keen eye for detail is a must. |
