Rights Manager/Head of Rights

Unbound is an innovative, award-winning and rapidly growing publisher and book crowdfunding platform. We publish a broad range of books, from established literary names to bloggers and YouTube stars. All our titles are crowdfunded by an audience passionate about making them available to the general reader. Several have gone on to be published internationally and are being developed for film and TV adaptations.
 

We now need a determined and energetic sales person to sell our growing portfolio of book and media rights in domestic and international markets.
 

Must-Haves:

• At least 3 years of rights sales experience in a consumer trade publishing setting, or literary agency, including at some point the management of sales of illustrated titles.
• An existing network of international editorial contacts, which you are keen to develop further.
• A proven track record for going the extra mile to secure deals on behalf of authors.
• Familiarity with rights management systems, and an interest in and ideas about pursuing the use of technology to develop your sales productivity.

Desirable:

• Languages.
• Experience across as full a range of sub-rights as possible. US sales experience an advantage.

• An accomplished networker and sales person who is as happy talking ‘literary voice’ as unit costs, negotiating deal points and drawing up contracts.
• A highly-organized self-starter with a developed work ethic, able to set your own objectives and work independently if needed.
• Someone with ambition to develop your career upwards in a rapid growth, entrepreneurial environment.
• Happy in a diverse team environment that includes a range of backgrounds, experiences and specialisms.
• Interested in digital technologies, data and development practices.

We will consider candidates wanting part-time or full-time posts, some home working also possible. Please state requirements in your application. Salary is competitive, according to experience and with opportunities to earn bonus. Place of work is our canalside, converted factory offices in N1.
